Jan Sjoerd Pasterkamp

Jan Sjoerd Pasterkamp is the initiator of Christformation as a Bible school.
He is highly involved as a teacher within the training program and functions as vice-chairman within the Christformation Foundation.

Jan Sjoerd and his wife Coby started serving the Lord together at an early age. After three years of active evangelism, leading youth meetings and Bible studies, they married. When Jan Sjoerd was 21 years of age, they left for Australia to work in the ministry of T.L. Osborn. Having done so for a year, they went to an island North East of Australia, called Thursday Island. There they saw many great and spectacular healings as people came to receive the Lord Jesus Christ.

During one month in Papua New Guinea, Jan Sjoerd heard the voice of the Lord calling him to return to this country, which he did half a year later. Jan Sjoerd and Coby then spent over 14 years in Papua New Guinea as missionaries. They pioneered several churches, made numerous evangelistic expeditions into the jungle, helped start three local Bible schools and saw great fruit on a flourishing ministry that lasts until this very day. Their three sons, Mark, Stephen and Daniel were born in this country as well.

When on furlough for a year, they set out for Japan as a family, where Jan Sjoerd lead a missionary work for another four years. After their time in Japan, they served as pastors in Australia for six years, before returning to the Netherlands. Upon their return, late 1992, they worked six years within the Beréa churches in Haarlem and Amsterdam. Then there came an urgent request to come to Rotterdam. And this is where they served as senior pastors of Evangelical Centre Europoort from 1998 up unto 2008.
Jan Sjoerd is well known in the Netherlands because of his share in the so called Restoration conferences and its accompanying magazine Herstel. (meaning: Restoration). He is a highly respected Bible teacher, marked by his sense of humour. Furthermore, Jan Sjoerd is the chairman of the Herstel Foundation, the vice-president of the Dutch department of the worldwide Assemblies of God (the V.P.E.) and a boardmember of the Dutch department of Derek Prince Ministries.
an Sjoerd and Coby share a deep love and respect for other churches and, wherever possibile, seek to join hands, share loads and connect with other believers. Consequently, you will more than often find Jan Sjoerd involved in special interdenominational meetings and events.

Throughout the years, a desire began to burn within him to start a fulltime training school in the Netherlands. One that would build up a new generation and equip leaders to lead the church of the future. In Chirstformation, this dream has come true.
